With financial support from FPT Foundation, MACDI implemented the project “Sustainable livelihood for women in Quang Binh province through business development support”. In the first phase of the project, MACDI conducted pilot test in 3 communes in Quang Binh province. Started in 2010, by the end of 2011, the project facilitated more than 450 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and about 1,000 individual businesses in 4 aspects: capacity building – Technical assistance; selection of potential agricultural products; connection to market and registering brands for products.
The projects gained very good results. After training courses, SMEs and individual businesses were improved knowledge about business. They knew how to plan business idea, manage finance, how to marketing their products. Particularly, the project provided technical support and market connection successfully for 5 value chains of people in Quang Binh which included: Organic chicken and organic pigs and Nghia Ninh commune, organic vegetables in Nam Trach commune, Organic corn for farmers in Tan Trach commune. Thanks to the projects, more than 7,000 people in Quang Binh were created more jobs and improved their income. Their products were consumed stably due to stable outputs
