Study The Potential Agricultural Value Chains For Clients Of Chi-Em Microfinance Program In Dien Bien, Sponsored By The Entrpreneurs Du Monde (Edm)

Objective:

To assist EDM in assessing potential agricultural value chains, with a view to change the way the fund operates. The study focuses on identifying loan purpose to reduce credit risks for borrowers and for the fund itself.

Main activities performed: MACDI’s experts have designed and conducted the study based on 5 criteria: (i) improve living conditions of the poor and gender equality; (ii) potential market; (iii) suitable with local resources; (iv) develop sustainable environment, (v) potentiality to boost production. After two working months, our experts have pointed out potential agricutural value chains relevant for business capability of the poor residing in two targeted districts, based on the research results. Additionally, our experts have also provided recommendation for the program management on effective ways to effectively support clients to improve their income while avoiding capital loss.
