Supporting children with disabilities in Hoa Binh Province
As part of the project “Enhancing the Participation of Children with Disabilities in Inclusive Education in Tan Lac District, Hoa Binh Province”, Micro-finance and Community Development Institute (MACDI) recently co-operated with Hoa Binh Provincial Hospital, Hoa Binh Department of Education and Training, Tan Lac Television Station, and the School Management Board of Tuan Loc, Phu Cuong, Ngoc My, Phu Vinh, Quyet Chien, and Thanh Hoi District for the screening and medical examination of children with disabilities currently studying in the 6 communes in the project area.
Healthcare professionals and MACDI project members visit children with disabilities and their families in Tan Lac District, Hoa Binh Province to provide medical examinations and charitable gifts.
The goal of the project was to provide medical examination and counseling for 31 children with special needs and their families so that the children may fully participate in school as their peers. This is also an opportunity for their family and teachers to gain more knowledge and better understand the health of children with disabilities and provide better care for them.
In addition, MACDI has also called upon the support from the benefactors of Superman Family Club in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for a donation of 6,500,000 VND for 7 children with disabilities with particularly difficult living conditions, 01 gas stove for Bui Thi Thao My (the child is deaf and orphaned), as well as clothing and basic necessities for children with cerebral palsy. We hope to share with families in need and bring a warm winter to the families of disadvantaged children in general and children with disabilities in particular.

Besides, on December 12, the donors also donated wheelchairs and car seats to children with disabilities in the project communes. Along with the delegation was the representatives of the Commune People’s Committee, village leaders participate in giving gifts to the children. Although the weather was cold and rainy, the activity was going smoothly and successfully.
