Kap And Baseline Survey Of Water, Sanitation And Hygiene (Wash) Status In The Plan Vietnam’s Project Areas Of Ha Giang, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Kon Tum And Quang Ngai Province”.

Objective:

The aim of the project is to know about status of water supply, sanitation and current hygiene practices of the adults and children in the newly project areas to serve better program design and implementation during the period 2011 – 2015

Main activities performed:

Identify survey indicators:

Identify hygiene improvement indicators to support survey on access to water and sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion and enabling environment. Such indicators will be grouped into: health impact indicator, essential family practice indicator, priority hygiene improvement indicators, supporting hygiene improvement indicators and institutional sanitation and hygiene indicator.

Make clear information in the areas:

Baseline information on the access of clean water and hygienic sanitation facilities (within 32 communes of the WASH programme) Knowdlege, Attitute and Practice (KAP) on hygiene promotion of the target groups (adults, parents of children from 0-8, school children in the first class of the primary school, in the pre-school), especially those who are of the ethnic minority groups. Enabling environment for hygiene improvement in the community and the school

Implement the field KAP and baseline study (data collection) in 9 communes in 5 provinces of Ha Giang, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Kontum and Quang Ngai of the project including a sample test.

Write of the KAP and baseline study report (preliminary draft, draft, final report)
Conduct a dissemination workshop on the KAP and baseline study with the partners and Plan Vietnam team
