Technical Assistance In Capacity Strengthening For Smes Under The Project “Financing Small And Medium-Sized Enterprises”, Sponsored By Jica

Objective: To provide technical assistance to SMEs in determining opportunities and challenges in their operations and developing process, equip them with relevant tools and knowledge to cope with market changes and develop.

Main activities performed:

• Conduct baseline survey on the operations of SMEs to find out opportunities and challenges they face;
• Organize training courses and provide business development support to SMEs;
• Provide support in business linkage for SMEs;
• Provide support in financial access for co-operatives, covering:

+ Research on banks that currently provide credit products for SMEs and credibility requirements of those banks available locally;

+ Organize dialogues between banks and co-operatives, for their information about credit programs provided by local banks;

+ Organize training courses for co-operatives on how to develop feasible business plans and to present convincing creditability profile;

• Provide support to SMEs in preparing creditability profile.

Results:

• Have organized more than 20 training courses in capacity strengthening for 10 SMEs;

Have successfully provided support to 3 SMEs to get bank loans, namely: Northwest Trading and Production of Agricultural Products Company, Bao Hoang Media Company, Pro-poor Job creation and increasing income Ltd.
